The fundraising activities of the Junior League of Pasadena have varied through the years and have generated a considerable amount of revenue. The success of these fundraising efforts has enabled the JLP to generously give back to those in need within our community through these past fundraising events and so much more:
Pasadena Prefers II was first published in 1964 with 54,000 copies printed.
The California Heritage Cookbook, the League’s 3rd cookbook, was published in July 1976. This cookbook was printed 12 times with over 150,000 copies sold, and was included in the Tabasco Hall of Fame of community cookbooks in 1995. California Heritage Continues was launched in October 1987.
California Sizzles was released in October 1992. It is now in its fourth printing and has won national awards for recipes and presentation.
Dining by Design, our 6th cookbook, continued our publishing tradition in 1998.
California Mosaic, our 7th and final cookbook was a multiple award winner, including a prestigious Tabasco Community Award.
Since 1926, the Junior League of Pasadena has contributed significant amounts of volunteer time and financial support within Pasadena and beyond. As New Member, Active, and Sustaining members in the JLP, our members can be proud of our past and know that the JLP continues to be committed to making a difference throughout our community today and for years to come.
One of our primary roles in the community is to provide trained volunteers, however, we have also often provided smaller monetary grants without our volunteer support. These monies have been used to aid local non-profit agencies by establishing new programs or strengthening existing ones.
