PASADENA, CA – September 1, 2017 – The Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. (JLP) is now accepting new members for the 2017-2018 training class, which will begin this September. Active members will be present to introduce prospective members to the community programs, training, and volunteer development opportunities in which they will participate throughout the year. “The Junior League of Pasadena is unique in the way it is able to provide ways for women to make friends and network in a fun environment, alongside providing leadership and training opportunities, all while giving back to the community and promoting voluntarism.” said Jessica Torres, New Member Committee Chair.
The newest training class was welcomed into the leadership and training organization at their annual meeting on May 23rd at Cafe Santorini. These 20 members have completed a nine month volunteer training program that included learning about the 91 year history of the JLP, participating in ongoing volunteer initiatives with community partners, and most recently developing and launching PasadenaHelp.org, which is an interactive online resource directory connecting community members to services and nonprofits in the greater San Gabriel Valley area. The launch event for the website on May 11, 2017 at Pasadena City Hall was a great success with attendees from both the community and multiple non-profit agencies.
