Join

Thank you for your interest in joining the Junior League of Pasadena (JLP). Each year JLP trains first-year members (New Members) to be effective volunteers and leaders in our community.

All New Members complete a comprehensive training course designed to introduce you to JLP, our members, our community partners, and the amazing projects we support. During this course you will have the opportunity to participate in volunteer activities, community projects, trainings, and social events.

Your first year will consist of class meetings held at JLP Headquarters on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings open with a light dinner and social, followed by training and activities intended to introduce you to JLP programs and projects, including the New Member project site PasadenaHelp.org, as well as provide you with the tools to make a difference in our community and develop lasting friendships. You will also be invited to General Membership Meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month where membership is kept informed on the work and progress of the entire League.

As a New Member, you will become part of an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Some of the benefits of membership include:

  • Connections – We connect with partner organizations in the community and directly with the communities in need.
  • Training – Our “on-the-job” training through volunteering provides new skills that are applicable in your career and future volunteer work. We have programs that help train for effective community service and leadership, including finance, fundraising, leadership, public relations and marketing, advocacy and personal development.
  • New Friends and Opportunities – Opportunity to engage with like-minded women and pursue common interests, for continued growth and personal fulfillment.
  • Leadership Development – Opportunities to serve on committees and the Board of Directors of a non-profit that makes an impact in the community.
  • Community Impact – We take pride in our awareness of community needs and opportunities to contribute to solutions so that we can continue to make a positive impact in the community.
  • Membership Transferability – League membership is transferable throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and England.

Please see the supporting materials regarding member requirements and application form on our website here. The 2017-2018 application deadline is September 19, 2017.

If you have any questions, please reach out to join@jlpasadena.org. We look forward to meeting and working with you!
