Since its founding in 1901 by Mary Harriman, The Junior League has evolved into one of the oldest, largest, and most effective women’s volunteer organizations in the world, encompassing 150,000 women in 291 leagues in four counties.

What We Do

For more than a century The Junior League has been on the forefront of social reform, identifying problems and finding solutions in a collaborative way. The list of issues they've tackled is long and complicated: pollution, illiteracy, domestic violence, foster children without a safety net, to name just a few.

90 Years of Voluntarism

The non-profit organization founded in 1926 has been promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective leadership of trained volunteers. Their past projects include programs at the Madison Elementary School, Kidspace Museum, and Pasadena Senior Center.

We give women an opportunity to make an impact to better our community while continuing the 90-year legacy of our league. Each new member is given the opportunity to learn new skills and be educated on the social issues facing our community today, while being able to share her current skills to help make an impact within the League and community.

The Junior League of Pasadena was founded in 1926 and since that time, we have supported our community in a variety of ways, both indirectly and directly.  We adapt our volunteer service programs to meet the interests of our members and of our community over time.

The League is almost entirely volunteer-based and every dollar earned through fundraising efforts is allocated to our community outreach projects in the form of direct financial contributions.
